Overview

Dimatec Inc. is seeking an internal/external candidate to work as a CNC Machinist Level 2 in the Machine Shop. **Climate Control Shop**. This will be an hourly position reporting to the Production Manager.  At this time, this position will be required to work the morning shift – from 6:00 am. to 2:00 pm., Monday to Friday. Candidate must be able to modify hours/days of work when required as per vacation, unexpected absence, and training requirements.

 Qualifications (including but not limited to)

  • High school graduate, with technical/academic machine shop training from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience setting up and operating manual and/or CNC machines.
  • Holds certificate (or ability to be trained) in overhead crane operation.
  • Experience to set up and use precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting CNC programs.
  • Intermediate blueprint reading and drawing / GD&T comprehension skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the latest technological advances.
  • Ability to train/mentor junior machine operators.
  • Physical ability to lift/push loads on a regular basis, perform repetitive tasks, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and good hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines.
  • Review work orders and interpret blueprints, select appropriate tooling for the work to be done.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to adjust speeds, feeds, and tool paths on CNC machine tools where necessary.
  • Verify the accuracy of a co-worker’s set-up(s) from the previous shift if the machine is already set-up.
  • Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to Quality Assurance for disposition.
  • Maintain work area as per continuous improvement guidelines, and monitor equipment as per maintenance sheets, operator checklists, and equipment specifications.

Overview

We are currently seeking an entry-level Product Finisher – Level 1 to join our Product Finishing department. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

The Product Finisher – Level 1 is responsible for cleaning graphite molds and finishing metal-bond drilling and grinding tools in preparation for delivery to customers. This role involves the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, belt sanders, water-jet equipment, and spray-painting processes.

The successful candidate will support production by helping ensure that products are properly cleaned, finished, identified, and documented in accordance with company quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean graphite molds and prepare them for reuse in production.
  • Gauge and size semi-finished drill bits using belt sanders and other pneumatic hand tools.
  • Remove excess metal and graphite from semi-finished metal-bond drilling and grinding tools using water-jet equipment.
  • Spray paint finished drilling and grinding tools.
  • Maintain product serial number traceability throughout the finishing process.
  • Maintain the work area according to continuous improvement guidelines.
  • Complete required information on work order packages accurately.
  • Follow company Safe Work Procedures and Workplace Safety and Health requirements.
  • Support product quality by ensuring finished products conform to requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Summary

The Diamond Setter – Level 1 is responsible for assembling graphite molds and preparing diamond impregnated metal-bond drilling and grinding tools for furnace processing.

Our Company

Overview

Dimatec Inc. is seeking an internal/external candidate to work as an NDT LPI and QA Inspector. This will be an hourly position reporting to the Quality Supervisor. the NDT, LPI Inspector is primarily responsible for performing a variety of quality control and inspection work, ensuring all standards, specifications, codes and regulations are met, and accurately reporting instances of non-conformances.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all levels of inspection including LPI, NDT, first article, in process and final inspection, receiving inspection and completing documentation as required
  • Audit finished products and sub-component products for compliance with requirements and specifications through the examination of in-process inspection data provided by production and the application of inspection techniques.
  • Accurately record instances of non-conformance in the “NC” (Non-conformance) module of the company’s UNIPOINT® software system.
  • Communicate with the Quality Management Representative where trends of non-conformance are apparent.
  • Manage the company’s system for the control and calibration of company-owned and employee-owned IMTE using the company’s MeasurLink® software system.
  • Ensure that appropriate status indicators have been applied to products or batches of products upon completion of inspection activities.
  • Authorize the release of conforming product for delivery to customers.
  • Authorize the disposition of non-conformances related to company-designed products in consultation with the Quality Management Representative and/or the Engineering Manager and/or the Product Development Coordinator as appropriate.
  • Act as the liaison with customers in requesting concessions for non-conformances related to customer-designed products as directed by the Quality Management Representative.
  • Ensure that all work order and inspection documentation is complete and forwarded to accounting department for processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • Level II LPI Certification from NRCan/CGSB or equivalent.
  • Detailed knowledge of all common shop floor measuring tools including dial bore gauges, thread gauges, groove mics, etc.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Systems and Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Experience with precision machined components and machining processes required.
  • Computer literate (knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite)
  • High commitment to document control and record-keeping
  • Completion of a mechanical blueprint reading course from a recognized educational institution.
  • Completion of a dimensional metrology course from a recognized educational institution.
  • Completion of a geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT) course from a recognized educational institution.
  • Physical ability to lift/push loads of up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, perform repetitive tasks, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use and calibrate common measuring devices including but not limited to: micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, internal micrometers, telescopic gauges, dial bore gauges, mechanical height gauges, dial indicators, bevel protractors, weight scales, plug (thread) gauges and ring (thread) gauges.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use a coordinate measuring machine and Rockwell hardness tester.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills in the English language.
  • Demonstrated mathematical skills required for the management of data.
  • Ability to train inspectors and machine shop personnel.
